Things to Do in Bath This September & October: Embrace the Cosy Season
As the days get shorter and the air turns crisp, Bath becomes even more enchanting. The city’s stunning autumnal colours and cooler temperatures create the perfect backdrop for some seasonal fun. Whether you’re a rugby fan, a culture vulture, or just fancy a cosy day out, here are my top picks for things to do in Bath this September and October.
- Catch a Bath Rugby Match at The Rec
There’s nothing like the buzz of a Bath Rugby match at The Rec to get your autumn weekends off to a roaring start. Wrap up in your warmest scarf, grab a hot drink, and cheer on the team as the crowds come alive. Even if you’re not a huge rugby fan, the atmosphere is electric, and it’s a great way to experience the city’s sporting spirit. - Join Our Girlie Walk
Every weekend, I host a girls-only walk around Bath, and it’s become one of my favourite things to do! We take a wander through the city, enjoy the beautiful autumnal scenery, and always finish up at a cosy coffee shop. Around 20-30 women join each weekend, and it’s a great way to meet new people, discover hidden spots, and have a lovely chat over coffee. Whether you’re new to Bath or have lived here for years, everyone’s welcome! - Visit the American Museum & Gardens
Just outside of the city, this hidden gem showcases stunning exhibitions on American art and history. The autumnal backdrop of the gardens is breathtaking, making it a perfect spot for a peaceful day out. Don’t forget to explore the grounds, where the vibrant fall colours are on full display. - Jazz Thursdays at Manja Manja
If you’re looking for a midweek escape with some live music and delicious food, you have to check out Manja Manja. Starting September 12th, their Jazz Thursdays bring the chillest vibes and live jazz from 5:30–8 PM. Grab a glass of wine, soak in the music, and enjoy the perfect autumn evening. It’s the ideal way to break up the week and unwind with friends. - Visit the Holburne Museum
On those rainy autumn days, duck into the Holburne Museum for a dose of culture and history. Their exhibitions are always interesting, and the building itself, with its grand Georgian architecture, is worth a visit. The museum also backs onto Sydney Gardens, so if the sun does come out, you can take a lovely stroll through the park afterwards. - Discover Bath’s Independent Shops
The colder months are ideal for wandering through Bath’s independent shops and boutiques, which are full of unique finds. Check out Found for stylish homeware and accessories, Magalleria for niche magazines, and The Yellow Shop for vintage clothing. Shopping local in Bath is always a treat, and it’s a great way to support the city’s small businesses. - Relax in the Botanical Gardens
For a tranquil afternoon, head to Bath’s Botanical Gardens in Royal Victoria Park. As the leaves change, the gardens take on a whole new beauty, and it’s a peaceful escape from the city centre. Bring a flask of tea, wander through the vibrant foliage, and soak up the last of the autumn sunshine.
From the excitement of a rugby match to the quiet serenity of Bath’s galleries and parks, there’s plenty to do in the city as the weather gets colder. So, wrap up warm, grab a hot drink, and enjoy everything Bath has to offer this autumn.
Lots of love,
Kyra Xx
